Odie offers several add-on options for insurance coverage on a wider range of items. The Routine Care package provides preventative care coverage for $15-25 per month.

Odie’s additional add-ons help cover other charges you’ll see on your vet bills.

Exam Fee and Non-Regular Office Visits – This add-on provides coverage on the exam fees your vet charges in addition to your pet’s diagnostic testing and treatment fees. Services under this plan include non-routine vet visits, non-routine exams, after-hours visits, referrals and rechecks, and emergency vet visits.

Take Home Prescription Medications – Odie’s prescription add-on covers medications the vet prescribes to treat your pet’s unexpected injuries and illnesses. Odie covers up to 950 prescriptions, which you can find in an alphabetized list on its website. Medications the vet uses to treat your dog in the clinic are covered under the accident/illness plan and do not require this add-on.

Rehabilitation, Acupuncture, and Chiropractic Care – This add-on covers the costs of your pet’s rehabilitation and physical therapy after it experiences an unexpected injury or illness. This add-on covers treatments like acupuncture, chiropractic care, laser therapy, cryotherapy, and more.

Odie Pet Insurance Reviews

You need to know what you’re signing up for before purchasing any pet insurance plan. We’ve compiled both positive and negative reviews from real Odie policyholders to give you a better picture of the provider.

Most customers say Odie has a friendly staff and provides great customer service. One customer expressed frustration with claim rejection. Odie replied by explaining different coverage add-ons and customer support resources.

“I’m very pleased with Odie for my Sniper. I have been dealing with Jasmine, who I love. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and sweet. This was the best thing I could have done for my Sniper. Thank you Odie.” –Jeanne C., TrustPilot

“Great experience.” –T. Platt, TrustPilot

“I have on my policy that doctor’s appts would be taken care of such as routine care. However, when I tried to submit paperwork for reimbursement, it was denied. So I don’t understand why it states that in the policy if they are not going to honor it.” –Jazre O., TrustPilot

Final Thoughts

We’re impressed that Odie offers affordable, customizable plans without compromising coverage. Although Odie is new, its catalog of add-ons and covered services is comparable to other top providers.

We hope this Odie pet insurance review helps you compare providers and understand prices, so you can choose an option that fits your needs. With any pet insurance plan, you can rest assured knowing you won’t have to choose between your finances and your pet.

Odie Pet Insurance vs. Competitors

Odie is one of the newest pet insurance providers in the industry, and it has a lot of competition. Odie’s plans start as low as $10, so we think it’s the best pet insurance option for pet owners seeking cost-effective coverage. It has comparable waiting periods and a multi-pet discount but lacks a mobile app for easy accessibility.

About Odie Pet Insurance

Odie was founded in Agoura Hills, California, in early 2020 and now has additional offices in New York. Miles Thorson co-founded Odie pet insurance after having difficulty finding affordable coverage for his dogs. Thorson’s family runs Thorson Insurance Services, a provider with over 35 years of experience in the specialty insurance industry.

The Odie team used the Thorson family’s decades of expertise to craft a simple, community-focused pet insurance product. Odie’s founders created the company with other pet owners in mind, aiming to democratize pet health care for all.
